Breaking Entertainment News

This is just in: Bruce Springsteen will be providing the half time entertainment for Super Bowl XLIII. The lines are open and we are now taking bets for the what the line up will be!

FYI

Yesterday, em told me the internet was her "one true home." If you define home as a rabbit hole of confusion, then yes, its my one true home too.

Armed Robberies

Two nights ago Alicia Sacramone was in medaling position when she was knocked out of her bronzed moment by a routine that included an unfortunate fall. Despite feeling like the most experienced of judges, I let it go as I assumed I was missing something technical. That was until Bela Karolyi, fallen gymnastics coach, emotionally ranted to Bob Costas that a robbery had taken place. It wasn't the wine talking after all!

Then last night reared yet another gymnastics tragedy as we watched our little lightening bug, Nastia Luikin, fall victim to the Olympic committee's flawed, fledgling tie-breaker system. Newly implemented this year, the system applies a process of discarding lowest scores given by the various judges in the event of tie. What ever happened to awarding TWO gold medals?!?? Again, a disappointed Karoyli weighed in - not only suggesting the Chinese team's passports were doctored but also arguing the new tie breaker was not in the spirit of the Olympics.

Tonight presents a third chance for more mysteries of Olympic proportions to occur as two Americans will compete for the gold in the balance beam final. I will be there and so will Bela Karolyi and we will be waiting for another armed robbery.

Some Might Call It A Quarter Life Crisis - I Call It A Come Back

There have been some changes of late:

1. I quit my job and then got a new job.

2. I quit my phone and then got a new phone.

3. I joined a bowling team. We won our first match. (Is that what you call one game of bowling? A match?)

All these changes are making me feel a little:

Geography Pop Quiz!

On my way back from the bar a few weeks ago - I stumbled upon this scene on our corner: A movie shoot!

There were cops supervising the whole fiasco, so I asked one what was going on.

He told me the movie was called something like "little girls" or "power girls"**

And then he said, "uh yeah, its foreign. From one of those, uh, Russian countries."

So I said, "you mean like, Eastern Europe?"

To which he responded, "Uh, Yeah, like that."

DD Sausage Egg And Cheese: Hangover's Secret Weapon

This is for Gramps, who just logged out of Gchat to go get one because he is afraid he is "seriously still drunk" at work right now. God Speed you, Jasie.

Office Outing

Our boss takes us on one outing a year. Last year it was a circle line tour that left everyone heat-stroked and pissy. Matthew learned his lesson this year and conned us into bowling at the Chelsea Piers. I won. and I won a day off.

Later a coworker told me that I was "scary." Scary good I thought.

Its Music Video Friday!!!!!

1. Peter Gabriel is my number one historical crush - you know, when you're in love with how someone was twenty years ago - like that.

2. There is something eerily Dave Matthews about this music video - is anyone else picking that up????

Fancy Face

I just wanted to point out how expressive Jasie has been in his pictures recently.

When I asked him about it he said it was due to "excitement" but I think its something more.

What a Long Strange Trip Its Been

We went tubing down the Esopus this weekend. It was wierd, then scary, then cold, then sunny and then it was over. Plannie was there, so was gramps, mac, em and the wizard's smoke.

At first there was a lot of, "Plan! What are we doing?!? What have you dragged us into this time?!??" But everyone got the hang of "tubing" pretty fast and before we knew it, we were all Huck Finn on that shit.

Seeing your friends wearing safety equipment is funny.

When I quit my job, I might join the Town Tinker.

Day Off: This Place is Scary.

There are two times when Williamsburg is a ghost town: Weekends 8am-2pm and Weekdays 12pm-5pm. All the hipsters are either asleep or have their hands tied by the service industry.
