Boyfriends, formerly known as Captain Captain played at Bodega, a new venue in Bushwick, last Saturday. The show space at Bodega is like a basement torture chamber - its dark, dank, smells like mold and from what I observed, was all ages. There was some loose wiring that made me a little nervous - after my June 4th Christmas light electrocution, I have been a little wary of any wire that dangles. Boyfriends put on a show that the teens LOVED and that I liked too of course but I just couldn't get over the venue, I felt like I emerged from the show with the black lung.
