some good news in 2012 - I GOT ANOTHER CAMERA

this is literally like, my seventh digital camera.  why do they make them so small and easy to lose?

here we go! xmas in seattle!!!!!

theres two places my mom sits in her house...this is one of them and below is the other one.  we call it "the thrown."  here chris has stolen it.

the entire time we were in seattle, chris complained about my mom's tv being too small.

these are the langdons and this is right before we stuffed our faces with tomatoes filled with cheesy rice and shrimp.  sounds weird but literally was one of the best things i have ever eaten.

then on to dads where the real party started:

not every day you get a private concert!  my dad, his brother and my cousin put on quite a show for us and we did a lot of singing along.  some notes: i need to work on my voice before my next visit and maybe need to practice the tambourine.  being the only person NOT participating in a sing-along sucks.

instagrammin' (killed born tired).

this candle's story is an epic odyssey.  its literally like forty years old and used to belong to my grandma.  I'm pretty sure its from my dad's childhood even.  anyway - now my dad has it and he gets it filled with wax every now and then so the tradition lives on and on and on.  its pretty cool and basically represents christmas spirit in the krause family.

yay!

Second Annual Best Party Of The Year

Thank god Jim has a birthday every year and thank god he always celebrates with an inter-galactic Jersey-themed party.

This party will make you act very 'athletic' or like a 'baller.'

Couples in Jerseys is a cute look.  So are Jerseys over haute couture outfits, like the look Ren sports here.

 The Celtics Bunny!

 Birthday boy in his element.

Friendships were struck, rekindled, cherished.  Memories, made and then forgotten.  Thanks, Beer!

This was probably around 9pm.  Whoops!

Whats the point of wearing Jerseys if you don't take them off on the dance floor?  Things unraveled into a good old fashioned living room dance party as soon as the keg was tapped.  Shirts came off and songs were played on repeat.  Thanks again Jim!  Already looking forward to next year!

Korean Kristmas

The orphans gathered at Chris's house for a Korean BBQ Christmas dinner.  We ate 20,000 Weight Watchers points worth of Korean food.

There was so much food and so many people that we had to hit the buffet in waves.  I was in group two with all the other cool kids.

Some  shots early on set the evening's mood: Whiskey.

After dinner was a Lakers game.  I dont know what happened there because I was eating thirds, fourths, fifths....you get the idea.  I dont think they won though?  Adam had a court side seat.

Tired, Full, Supportive.  What use is a roommate if you cant put your head in their lap for a snooze?

AND THEN! The white elephant gift exchange.  The best part of the night.  So many gifts displayed appealingly on Dara's fully clothed (too bad!) body.  Hard not to get grabby.

Good Work, Dara!

Double Kurland Icing! So many activities this holiday season!

When everyone left, I took off my pants and watched The Proposal starring Sandra Bullock.  I had a seventh dinner around 1am and finally called it quits.

Now its on to Sober January!  Wish me luck!

New Xmas Eve Tradition

Chris and I went to the Museum of Natural History today and surprisingly, it wasn't a CF!  All the kids were busy sitting in Santa's lap.

Neither of us had ever been, so calling it a revelation would be an understatement...

This is Chris communing with some form of Plains mammal.  They look like they are begging him for food.

The Blue Whale was an obvious highlight.  Did you know their hearts are the size of Volkswagen Beetles and some of their arteries are so big, a human can swim up them?!?!

Also, please note my new camera's indoor setting.  It was like night time in there, and I didn't even use a flash!

This made me want to own a fur...WHOOPS!

Twins!

A+ for the great efforts to make the place really feel like a menagerie.  I felt like an 8 year old discovering kangaroos for the first time!

Look who got all tuckered out from learning!  NAP TIME!!

Next year its mandatory for all New York Christmas orphans to do this.

Google Images is like a Magic Eight Ball of long forgotten shit.  Thats why searching phrases like "My Future" is funny - cause you get things like this:

Long Live Parties With Rules!!!

Jim's Birthday Party had rules. The number one rule was all attendees had to wear Gear. In a moment of bad judgement, Jim let me wear his Vikings jacket. Later in the evening, he realized the mistake he had made, but didn't know how to handle the situation, so he had to have Liz act as his proxy and confront me. She said she had to take the jacket in question back and offered me a blue and green one instead that fit me better! We both won in this situation!

Rule number two - all attendees had to be hot. I mean, really? This goes without saying. but there were two models from Italian Vogue there, so I thought I would post their picture above.

Liz's diet is really working!!! Check out how big her old clothes used to be!

Rule number three - whoever was standing on the office chair was in charge.
I wonder if Jim is going to wash all these jerseys. I know I wasn't be as vigilant as I should've been about stains. I really like how all these pictures turned out because of how colorful our outfits were. More Gear themed parties please!
